HB 706 | Montana Educational Opportunity Tax Credit

Student loan debt is a second mortgage on an entire generation.  We can’t buy homes, make car payments, build businesses, or plan for a family if we are struggling under the $50,000 in loans to become a public health nurse. This proven legislation encouraged young, hardworking  Montanans to stay and invest their talents in our state while easing their unfair debt burden.

  • Allow for graduates of the Montana University System earning $40,000 or less to claim a tax credit against their income tax to be used for student loan payments.
